"Lifesafer" refusing to issue "4 month compliance" report for Ignition Interlock.

7 views 7 answers
A friend required an interlock for 4 months. Installed OCT, removed JAN. In NOV, there was a faulty interlock that created a non compliance hit requiring replacement. In JAN it was removed, with a $150 early term fee. Now his license has been revoked because WA state didn't get a "4 month compliance report". Lifesafer now refuses to issue one because of the NOV hit, even though it was because of failed equipment, not non compliance. They are now telling him if WA state won't overlook it, he will have to have it re-installed for another four months, and saying he can't get a refund of the early term fee. Their equipment failure, their installers failure to pass this on, is effectively doubling the money they will make by requiring 4 more months. Any options to fight this?

Sorry to hear about this. Why are you asking for your "friend?" Seems odd. He will need to work this out.

Seems like this is a Washington state question. If so, it is best served being asked by your "friend" to a Washington licensed criminal defense attorney.

Why are you asking California attorneys about a Washington state IID requirement? if I were you I would have your friend whose case it actually is make a question on a Washington state DUI attorney posting on or in the alternative hire a Washington state attorney to deal with this issue.

I agree that you need to address your question to a criminal defense attorney in the State of Washington.

Mr.. Fremont says he can thinl of a few ways to go on this. Call him! I fail to understand why you are taking care of someone elses Driving issue. The WA case will need to be resolve by a WA attorney unless My colleague Mr. Fremont can come up with a better solution(s). Good luck. Hope this helps?
