How can I show the courts I was acting in good faith?

I was charged with driving while suspened and I felt like I should drive that night. The other adult was drinking and under the influence of drugs. Long story short, we had three minors with us and I just wanted to get them to a safe location. I was looking out for their well being and the safety of others

Unfortunately, driving with a suspended license is a "strict liability" offense, and your defense won't mean anything to a judge. Get a lawyer (free or paid) and have them tell your story to the prosecutor, you'll probably get a good deal.

While I understand your situation, unfortunately it is not a defense to driving while suspended. It is a mitigating circumstance that your lawyer could use to try to get you an amended charge though. I recommend you hire a traffic attorney and get your DL or at least a hardship license asap. If you can do that, prosecutors are usually open to amending the charge. Good luck.
