This is a common issue and difficult to answer. The first thing I would do is have an attorney write her a letter advising her of obligation to lodge the will with the court within 30 days of your father's death and her obligation to probate the will if warranted. If she refuses to do that, your only options are to either wait or file your own Petition for Probate. Speak to an attorney about your options. Good luck to you.

Attorney James has provided you a solid response, as always. If nothing is working to get your sister to share the information, you'll need a local probate attorney for assistance. You can locate a local attorney by contacting your local bar association or by using the Find a Lawyer tool.

Filing a request for probate would ultimately meet your needs. Ms. James has (rightly) chastised me for offering this as a first choice, however, it does serve your purpose, especially if there is already an adversarial relationship established.
