Does filing First Amended Complaint cancel Discovery?

I am Pro Se Plaintiff. I have been noticed for Special Interrogatories, Production of Documents, Deposition, and Demurrers. If I file First Amended Complaint before any of this begins, does that "reset" everything? (i.e. does Defendant then have to deal with the Amended Complaint and start discovery and demurrers over again, as if from the start?
