Juvenile records are sealed. However, the application for employment may require disclose of any and all arrests, to include any juvenile offenses. It will depend greatly on the job requirements for the position that you are applying. As a general statement, a felony conviction of any kind or a misdemeanor conviction involving force or violence will be considered automatic bar from law enforcement employment. A juvenile adjudication is not a "conviction." All other law enforcement related arrests will be considered on a case by case basis.
Juvenile court is a civil court; it is not considered a criminal court, as the adult courts are classified. You should check with local law enforcement sources in and around your community, to see if a prior juvenile court delinquency case acts as a bar to a law enforcement career. If you eventually apply for a law enforcement position, you will need to disclose your juvenile court delinquency case, if the specific question is asked on the employment application.
