We am in office in high rise in Maryland - resident in condo above us had massive leak into our unit - her insurer denied claim

the resident in the unit above us had a massive leak into our unit that took about 10 days to dry out - the reception area got hit hardest and the computer, mouse, etc. are fried. The building insurance paid for all the structural damage, and we received a letter from the resident's insurer denying any claim because she was not negligent. Purportedly, the leak was from the wax ring around her toilet. What rights do we have in this situation?”

If you do not have insurance coverage of your own that would pay for the damages, you can sue the condo unit owner. They are responsible for maintaining their plumbing fixtures in good operating repair. Be prepared to prove the cost of repair or replacement of the items damaged in your office.
