Very very tough! Most likely this offense will be considered much more serious than it would be in many other courts in Metro Detroit. I'd recommend hiring an attorney to assist you ASAP.
I agree with the prior response. Judge Nicholson is very difficult to be in-front of, and having an attorney by your side will only increase the success of your case. Hopefully that provides some guidance on your next course of action. Best of luck.
It is a toss-up as to whether or not she is THE most unreasonable Judge in the Oakland County District Courts or is just a first runner up for that "Honor". That being said, as long as you don't have to leave the state for a year, don't expect any car trouble, don't have any sick or dying relatives, and you can be on time for every appointment ordered by the court and, do not test positive for alcohol or other substances ever, then, in those events are otherwise perfect, you will be in pretty good shape. In other words don't mess up and don't allow others to mess you up and don't go anywhere requiring you seek the court's permission...Good luck....you will need experienced counsel if you wish to avoid the pain she typically imposes upon those unrepresented souls.

It's all relative on how tough Judge Nicholson is, but she will follow the law. Much will depend on the facts surrounding your case, whether this is a first offense, and whether you have any viable defense(s). What you do want is an experienced criminal defense attorney protecting all of your rights and strategizing an appropriate disposition of your case--- i.e. motion to suppress/dismiss, plea bargain or trial. is an excellent source to help you find such an attorney. Good luck!
