Do I have any grounds for a case against an establishment

Business 4 views 1 answers
I am a long time client of a restaurant/bar in D.C. I left my phone there the other day, and the owner and manager went through it, a friend reached me at work and informed me that the manager kept calling him , I knew where it was and couldn't believe what they were doing. Not only did I have to stop in the middle of work (since the only reason I had not gone yet was my double shifts) rushed there and retrieved my phone by the bartender, I am still upset and cannot sleep. Any advice ?

I am sorry this is so upsetting to you. But just based on what you have said, it sounds like the bar was just trying to find the owner of the phone. If there is more to it than you have said, I suggest you talk to a lawyer. Even if there is an action for intentional inflection of emotional distress, you would have to prove damages. May guess is, no lawyer is going to take this up unless you pay an hourly fee.
