My Ex Husband Divorced me with out notice or having being served. He lied to the court and said I abandoned the marriage.

I have lived in the house we bought for 17 years and could have been legally served there. I was divorced on failure to appear to avoid giving me a settlement towards the business we started together 22 years ago. He took all the money married his mistress and left me broke and unemployed. He filed bankruptcy and reopened the business in the mistress name. I worked every day towards cultivating and building that business. Can this really happen in the state of Texas? What are my options because this is not only morally wrong but, isn't it legally wrong to never attempt to serve someone and lie to the courts? can someone tell me what my options are if any? Are there statute of limitations in a situation like this? Also, what is the attorney's responsibility in not pursuing the facts.

You need to discuss this with an attorney. As you've been informed already, time is not on your side.

His attorney owes no duty to you. Whether there is anything you can do depends on when you found out and how much time has passed. You are expected to act diligently once you learn of something like this. Meet with an attorney in person ASAP to discuss the timing of these events.
