Police responded to a robbery at our store involving the former owner two months after we bought the business from her. The sale contract stated after the sale date she had no ownership of anything in the store. She told police she had the right to get her stuff and said our payout book was hers. Police didn't look at any documents or have the district attorney review the case. I however found out seven months later the police tried to make a harassment case on me and the supervisor who returned our checkbook and bank documents from the payout book never wrote a police report. This has hurt me and my ability to go back to being a police officer and my family with the loss of money from the business failing after this incident.
You don't ask a question here. To the extent that you are looking for an attorney willing to represent you against the local police, that will certainly be a tough sell. There are different rules about proceeding against public entities with shorter statutes of limitations, and certain immunities that can be difficult to get through. (The point being that these are largely needed so they can do their jobs.) It isn't to say that a suit can't be brought or won, but since the area is challenging not all attorneys will pursue such a case. Also, this forum does not allow attorneys to solicit work. No one can say, "call me." Try using the lawyer finder tool here, or just do a google search, or work you way down the phone book. If you still get no where, consider expanding your search area to include attorneys in neighboring cities or counties.
