What can happen if an attorney represents someone in a court case without filing an entry of appearance?

My ex wife filed for a temporary protection order in Colorado. Her reasons for filing are false in my opinion. I have already been to one hearing and my ex wife's "attorney" requested a 14 day continuation. I was not aware she had representation and when I called the court they say there is no attorney listed nor has an entry of appearance been filed. We have another hearing scheduled soon so I was wondering if this unknown person shows up again and no entry of appearance has been filed by that time can I request the case be dismissed or have the person representing my ex wife removed from the courtroom?

State courts are not strict when it comes to a written entry of appearance. If they are actually an attorney, they will enter an appearance orally and the hearing will proceed from there. If you want to be on equal footing, hire an attorney.
