Records of juvenile dependency hearings are confidential. In order to get them, you must file a petition with the court. I'm a little bit unclear, but it sounds like you have an open dependency case. Your lawyer is in a better position to know if those documents are helpful to your case, and how to get them if they are.

You can file a motion under Welfare and Institutions code section 827 to get the records. You can find directions on how to complete the forms on the Advokids website. Just do a search it. You may also find the forms on your superior court website under forms. In some counties - you can just request the file from the Department and they will give it to you since you are a parent.

If you have a dependency case that is either open or one in which the court terminated jurisdiction, you can get copies of the minute orders and reports by going to the clerk's office with proper ID and request copies IF YOU ARE A PARENT. The file is confidential to the public, but not to the parties or their attorneys.
