It appears he is being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and also needs to deal with an allegation he violated probation on an earlier case. Generally speaking, HS11377(a) charges are now almost always misdemeanors unless your brother has a disqualifying prior criminal conviction in his past.

It seems that he's violated probation. He needs an attorney based in San Diego to represent him on the probation violation and to file a petition for reduction pursuant to Prop. 47 (or even PC17(b)) since HS11377(a) is now a misdemeanor.

Yes, a probation violation and possession of a controlled substance. They could end up being misdemeanors depending on the circumstances.

11377(a) HS is a charge for violating Health and Safety Code section 11377(a). This is simple possession of methamphetamine. 1203.2(a) PC indicates a violation of Penal Code section 1203.2(a), which indicates a probation violation.
