Can I apply for traveler document and leave the states and come back for my finger print as I have my green card from 5 years

Are you talking about Reentry permit to stay out for more than one year. As a permanent resident, you don't need any travel document with your valid passport .

What is the basis for the finger printing? If you have lost your LPR card you can apply for an I94 to travel while the I90 is in processing.
