When moving between states, which state's laws apply to me.

I am considering moving from Kansas to Iowa. In Kansas, I am required to register for 15 years (1 year left). But Iowa appears to only require registration for 10 years. So if I move, which state's registration requirements would apply to me?

If you moved to Iowa (assuming you can) Iowa's law would apply to your registration. I say if you can because there may be restrictions on your movement in the terms and conditions of your Kansas registration.

First, you need to make sure there are no restrictions in your terms regarding moving to another state. Check with your PO or whomever is handling your registration requirements for information.
