This is a classic example of why you need to retain a workers' compensation lawyer as soon as possible after a work injury.
The WC insurance carrier is going to play games until they can't anymore. If there is a plausible way for them to avoid paying, they will find it and use it to avoid paying you TTD or medical.
Further, a good lawyer not only will get those issues straightened out, he or she will get your case ready for trial so that you can maximize the permanency settlement (PPD) to which you are entitled.
Do not delay anymore. Hire a lawyer. I can't say it emphatically enough. You are getting nowhere and that will not change as long as you are unrepresented. Without understanding the system and having the ability to go to trial on your case, the insurance company has zero motivation to do anything other than stonewall.
You need an attorney who can coordinate your WC benefits you are entitled to and determine if there are any other third party liability issues regarding your falling incident. If they are not paying for things you need, an attorney can file a petition with the WC Commission to compel payment of benefits you are entitled to, such as lost Income (TTD) and medical benefits. I suggest you locate an attorney in your area and schedule a consultation. Many will meet with you to discuss your case without charge.
ItSeems that both your workers compensation and any possible third-party case against the building where you fell are being denied. They can be several reasons one of which is that you are exposed to no greater risk than the general public another that you are in the course of your employment at the time. Be that as it may need to contact the workers compensation attorney that has experience in these matters many workers comp attorneys also handle personal injury claims. Hopefully you gave no recorded statement the either the claim adjuster or the buildings insurance adjuster or it may be too late. Good luck
This is the reason you need a lawyer and the reason we get many of our clients. The Workers' Compensation Act provides you with three rights. The right to be treated by a physician at the companies expense, the right to 2/3rd of your average wage for the time you are temporarily disabled from work, and finally a lump sum settlement for the injury you received. Attorneys in this field work on a contingency, which means you only pay the attorney when you get money from the insurance company. The fee is 20%. Now get yourself some help by calling an attorney. There are mechanisms in place where a lawyer can file for an emergency hearing to get you the rights you are entitled to under the Act.
As my colleagues have emphasized, if insurance companies were fair, there would be no need for lawyers. Unfortunately for you, insurance companies are not fair and employers treat employees like dirt when any such injury issues arise. Hire someone good and in your geographic area. Whoever it is, whether they handle the comp case and a potential civil case, they work on a percentage basis and do not get a dime unless they make you money. It is, therefore, in your best interest to hire an attorney who knows what he or she is doing and familiar with the comp docket and courts in the Joliet area. Good luck.
