I live in a Coop on the Upper East Side/ Manhattan on one of the "Avenues" An All Cash Bldng, just learned my name is forged.

I live in an old guard bldng on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, an Avenue address. I have uncovered that the Head of the Coop Board has forged my name on the documents/proprietary lease, etc. for the Corporation, and there is no Raised seal or Witness on that important page. My signature appears elsewhere and all are forgeries. It's an All Cash building, and so the documents are not "in the bank", as the shares have no debt. What kind of a lawsuit can I or should I bring against him, and is the rest of the Board responsible for his actions as well? This is completely provable and I have reported it to the authorities.

Forgery is a criminal offense. I understand that you have reported it to law enforcement. Retain counsel to deal with the legal ramifications on the civil side.

Dear New York Coop Owner: You must have the financial resources to hire a lawyer. This is my question. Do you have your own original lease given to you and the share certificate when you paid all cash in this old guard building? Does your lawyer have those documents? If you had the original share certificate and original lease the best and safest place to store is a safe deposit box at your bank.

Was your name forged on the proprietary lease and other documents to transfer the property to someone else? Are they trying to say you are not the owner? If you have an original proprietary lease and an original stock certificate then you have proof of ownership.
