Check with a local attorney who deals with these types of cases. Find one here on .com searching is free and easy. Most states have a standard plea bargain that should work out for your son. He needs to get his license cleared up or he will get more of these tickets since he is still driving. Good luck.
I am not licensed in Tennessee, but why was he stopped at all? Was there another DUI? In California, if one is caught driving as your son after a license suspension, there is a mandatory ten days of jail time. Tennessee may have a very similar law, but check or verify this with an experienced TN attorney.
I agree he needs to speak with a local attorney. If you want to try and find one in your area here on , use the "Find a Lawyer" tab at the top of the page. Good luck.
As an attorney that handles DUI cases in McMinnville, I will tell you that if he is revoked for DUI, then you should expect the District Attorney to offer the minimum 48 hours in jail and at least six months of probation. I would contact an attorney to mainly help you through the process of getting him his license back if he is eligible. This sometimes will change the DA's offer.
