I had a person rent a room in my home for almost 4 yrs. There was no written contract, just a verbal agreement. Her claims against me are 100% false. She claims i harassed and denied her access to kitchen and bathroom, which I never ever did. Unlawful entry by landlord. She brought in two dogs and locked them in her room for over 10 hrs while she was gone. They were going crazy..yelping and scratching door so I let them out to take care of business. Also says i didn't provide peaceful quiet. NOT true! I was gone every day from noon til midnight and she had her cousin and boyfriend living here for the last year. She refused to pay any utilities. She's done this to previous landlords.

Attorneys are not permitted to represent anyone in Small Claims Court. But that does not prevent you from consulting with an attorney to prepare your defense. So I recommend clicking on the Find a Lawyer link at the top of the page and reviewing your situation with an attorney. It will substantially increase the likelihood you will succeed. You should also discuss with your attorney how best to proceed to lawfully remove this tenant.

Attorneys are not allowed in Small claims court. However, if you need assistance outside small claims court, feel free to contact a local attorney. See link below
