I want to petition the court for the money I have invested in repairs on a partnership property. Do I need a lawyer to petition?

Two names on the property deed. Mine is one of them. I have painted house, new roof, road repair, and I do not live there, I have my own property, as does the other partner. No one is living there at this moment. Without care, the property goes into disrepair.

If this is a business, and you are concerned about the other partner(s) getting a disproportionate share of the profits, possibly yes. You would want to have at least an initial consultation (usually 60 minutes) with a business attorney, so that attorney could get a general overview of the facts. The attorney could explain to you the outlines of NC law as it relates to general partnerships, and the two of you could decide what step would best achieve your desired legal objectives. So I would at least start with consulting a business attorney relatively close to Siler City, even if the means of redress is something other than a lawsuit. Best wishes to you.
