I am currently listed as homeless, that needs to change, yet being on that registry makes it almost impossible to find a real address to live at, Jan 2005 I was arrested, convicted in June 2005, Using a Computer to commit a crime, then in July 2010 I discovered I was not in compliance with the registry, I turned myself in later pleading No Contest to a charge of failure to register (house I was living in was foreclosed on) I tried to find a place to live only to be rejected by many Apt complexes, will not live with friends as their address will appear on the registry, cannot afford a house, Family lives to close to schools, I never touched anyone or did jail/prison time, have lost friends, humiliation is bad and quality of life is declining , am employed have a car, need a real residence

This question seems like the earlier question about registration however this one is whether you have a chance of removing you from the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. These cases are difficult and very fact intensive. If you were convicted then the likelihood is not real good to have you removed from the list. However, in some cases mistakes can be made and people get wrongly accused. At this point you really need to attack the entire case. Some cases can be readily challenged. While other do not. The issue becomes one of, if you challenge it then you may have a chance, However, it things do not get challenged then there is little change of getting the case removed from the SORA. You should find a lawyer who is willing to go after the conviction. You need someone who will fight. You will need to do whatever you can to make the best case possible and convince the judge to look into the situation so that someone will agree to get behind you to help get the case overturned.
