This is a question regarding filing a potential lawsuit:

Initially, I tried submitting a written complaint to the company for the conduct of their employee. Several employees refused to give me the contact information for their manager or even corporate office. I tried calling corporate, but I was transferred to their customer care, and they kept me on the phone for almost an hour, with no meaningful information given. I kept being passed around from one person to the other(pure harassment) without ever being able to get the manager's contact info, corporate info(such info is not online)I literally spent the whole morning trying to get such info (more than 4 hours). What can I do here?? can I file a lawsuit to obtain the info through discovery? don't I have a right to file a complaint with the company before filing a lawsuit?

You question is confusing, but it seems you were not employed by the company but the person who offended you was so employed. I don't think the company is obligated to disclose the identifying information on an employee to an outsider unless a lawsuit is pending. What did this person do to you? You might want to consult one of 's litigation attorneys.

You have a right to submit a complaint to the Company; but they have no obligation to receive it or otherwise respond unless that obligation is provided for in some type of agreement between you and the company. Also, the company is not obligated to provide information regarding any employee, managerial or otherwise. It is clear that you are receiving horrendous customer service. Report your experiences to the Better Business Bureau, Yelp and other review sites. Also, go to the company's website and search for company officers and directors and then write letters to them. Use a little creativity instead of staying on hold for hours on end. And finally, consider the cost of filing a lawsuit in relation to what you seek from getting the manager's name - the filing fees alone will be $500 and will increase thereafter.

Filing a lawsuit so you can do discovery to get the identity of an employee so you can register a complaint with the company about that employee is one of the worst reasons I have ever heard for a lawsuit. The company does not have to give you the names of their employee. What you describe may be annoying and rude, but probably is not sufficient to support a lawsuit. Unless you have some other actionable grounds for suing the company, you may just be wasting your time, energy and money.
