a 1 month year old fell from the bed hit her head. we both gave written and verbal statements yesterday. now they want to give us a lie detector test. we have nothing to lie about. I feel uneasy about taking a test. we spent 7 hours at the police station yesterday doing statements. no charges were filed yet. can they detain us for saying no.???

In my opinion no one should ever take a lie detector test. You need to get an attorney immediately.

I agree with Mr. DeGroot. Do NOT take a lie detector. It is a subjective test. Instead, hire an experienced criminal defense attorney TODAY; as in RIGHT NOW!!! Do not say another word to anyone - CYS, police, your neighbor - anyone, until after you speak with an experienced criminal defense attorney. Good luck.

It's almost always better not to take the test. They are not reliable, and in most jurisdictions they cannot be admitted, even if you pass. Contact a local defense attorney immediately.

You should contact a lawyer immediately before speaking to anyone else regarding this matter.
