A debt judgment was filed against me and I lost the case. I want to know what I can expect if I still do not pay.

My concern is with traveling as I work overseas and will be traveling in and out of the U.S. I understand if the judgment amount goes unpaid (I am unable to pay it at this time), I can be threatened with jail time for ignoring a court order. Is it likely that when checking in for a flight, that it will be a means for authorities to block my passage into and out of the U.S.?
If you are ordered to appear for something like a deposition or a court hearing, and ignore the order, then eventually you can be held in contempt, if you have notice of the hearing and fail to appear.
If you are this worried about this one judgment, and have other unsecured debts, consider filing a Ch. 7 bankruptcy and wiping all of your debts out.
If you have a bank account in the U.S. its possible to garnish your account. Its also possible to garnish your wages if your employer is based in the United States.
Click on "Find a Lawyer" above and locate a debt collection defense attorney in the area where you live or where the judgment comes out of, and discuss some of your options.

If you ignore a court order for a debtor's examination hearing, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest for failure to appear. The other side will need to ask for that hearing and you will receive notice in the mail. You are not subject to jail for not being able to pay a judgment, but rather for failing to obey a court order to come and give information regarding your accounts, income etc.
