Can I submit affidavits from witnesses in a immediate danger hearing?

I'm representing myself right now. The judge signed an immediate danger order suspending the other parent's parenting time. I expect they will request a hearing. Can I submit notarized affidavits in lieu of testimony, or should I round up witnesses to appear in person? I know in dissolution of marriage/custody hearings affidavits are no longer allowed; does that rule apply to all domestic relations hearings?

You are likely best to round up your witnesses to testify in court as an affidavit from such persons are generally not acceptable in a court hearing. The reason is that everyone has the right to face and question (cross-examine) their accusers.
