Collecting alimony that is NOT court ordered

Business 4 views 2 answers
My husband and I divorced. We agreed upon on an amount and length of time for spousal support. It was NOT court ordered, a judge simply signed the stipulation. His place of employment cannot legally take the money from his check as there is simply no court order. He is starting to be late on his payments. He still pays, but sometimes a day or two late, sometimes as much as a week or more. Do I have any legal recourse?

Hello. I suggest to you that the possible or potential legal recourse is this: You should pay to confer with a very well experienced attorney at this time and she can advise you in great detail once she culls the full facts from you. Several questions (for you) come to my mind. It will help your attorney help you if you prepare a time line with dollar figures as to the history. Tricia Dwyer Esq.

Your question is confusing. Moreo would have to be known about what the Judge signed. If the Judge approved a Stipulation, that IS a court order. You must retain legal counsel.
