Relatives visiting for 3 to 6 months in my rental home. Can I insist a time limit for them to "visit" in the house?

After signing lease but before occupation tenants said that relatives (two different sets) will be staying at house for 3 to six months each of each year. i don't think that this constitutes a visit and am not comfortable with additional people coming and going in the house. How do I handle this?
If the lease form you used contains language prohibiting such long-term "guests," then you are well-positioned to object kindly but firmly. If it does not, then you may have a negotiation on your hands. Again, be kind but firm.
I'd suggest you ask for increased rent and for the guests be added as tenants to the lease.
Your concerns are valid. Remember the landlord tenant relationship is a relationship. If everyone is reasonable and honest about concerns and interests, a solution will present itself. Get help with the conversation if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
An important question to have answered is whether the "relatives" are really "relatives." It could be that your tenant is actually subleasing space to some other people who are not on the lease but actually paying your tenant rent. Also, if the people really are not related, they may be violating the zoning code in having unrelated residents above a certain number occupying the house. Regardless of how you resolve this issue, be sure to amend your lease form to avoid such a problem going forward.
