Must I keep my ex informed of ortho visits if she refuses to pay? Our order states she must pay half. I've followed all req's.

Our order states that one parent can take the child to ortho visit. The other parent can get a different opinion. If opinions match we have to follow ortho's orders. Ex refuses to pay and is quite hostile. She also refuses to pay. Do I still need to have her present at ortho visits if I'm paying 100% until I file a show cause motion? She sends threatening emails stating she needs to be there but will not pay. I feel that it is in the best interest of my daughter for her not to be present since she does not agree with her getting braces in the first place. I don't want my daughter to see anymore of her mothers "shenanigans" if I can prevent them. Am I in the right at this point?

It depends on the language used in the "order." If the order states that both parties MUST be present, you will probably need to file a motion to modify that order. If the order states that both parties MAY be present, inform her of the time, date and location. If she shows up, she has nothing to complain about. If she doesn't show up, that's a choice that she has made and she still has nothing to complain about. If you have difficulty interpreting the exact meaning of your court order, check with an attorney. If she is not paying her fair share, seek a local lawyer through and ask him or her to file a motion for contempt.
