The answer is yes. You can file the LLC articles of organization with the NC Secretary of State, but you must provide an address for your form. If you want, you can go ahead and file your articles, using your home address, and once your LLC is up and running, file an amendment with the Secretary, updating the contact information. There is a small charge for filing amendments, but this should not be a problem for you. I have included a link to the Secretary of State's site with the necessary LLC forms: https://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/forms.aspx?PItemId=5429715&Type=LimitedLiability%20Company Once you file your articles, it would be highly beneficial to have a business attorney draw up an operating agreement for your LLC, which, by establishing the internal, corporate formalities of your business, will further protect you from personal liability, while maximizing your control over your entity and preserving your sole proprietor treatment by the IRS for income tax purposes. I am very happy for you as you stretch your entrepreneurial wings; your enthusiasm comes through in your post. May you follow through, thrive, succeed, and live your dreams. Take care.

Yes, as far as an LLC, and yes as far as a federal trademark, but in the latter case you are not guaranteed approval. I would caution that I am aware of people whose proposed business names have been copied when bandied about at a preliminary stage. Unless absolutely necessary, I would suggest keeping the name to yourself prior to securing interest.
