My lawyer says I need to appear more cooperative to the courts by allowing my ex to "fail" with our son, before restricting him.

My ex is actively serving probation for a criminal case that supposedly was "dismissed." Our son is 3, and I'm 6 months pregnant. I left him in May after he physically choked me in front of our son. A police report was filed, and we have no temporary orders in place at this time. I have been allowing him to visit our son for about 2xs a week for a few hours at a time. He pays me about $50 to $100 for daycare a week. He used to visit with my parents, because I was afraid he would take my son. My parents don't want to be involved anymore so I've been monitoring the visits. I feel uncomfortable and afraid, but my lawyer has advised me to not keep my son from him. He doesn't even know who our daycare lady is, or our dr's, has never even asked me. What should I do?

Since you have an attorney you should follow your lawyer's advice

I agree, you should follow your lawyer's advice. If you have a problem with your lawyer, you should talk to her or him about your concerns. If you are still not satisfied, hire a different lawyer. In my experience, however, your lawyer's advice is prudent.

If you don't like your lawyer get a new one. Otherwise nobody is going to second guess the lawyer you already chose to represent you. Best of luck
