Left state without tell probation officer.

My son recently plead guilty to a DUI charge. Part of the plea deal was he can leave the state. He is currently out of the state for a week, but never informed him probation officer. He didn't realize he had to, if he had no restrictions. Should he call his parole officer and inform him of the mistake? Will he be arrested?

Does his condition of parole require him to notify his PO when he leaves? If it does and he did not, he can be arrested and a parole violation can be reported
