How do I get my granddaughter back from CPS asap?

Daughter used husband's prescription meds. Daughter followed case plan but failed rehab. Daughter attempted to use another person's urine and was and was caught. Granddaughter taken into custody by CPS almost week ago. She is 19 months old. Not neglected, not abused. Well-fed, clothed, bathed, roof over her head. 5 other adults and 3 siblings of baby also in the home. Now it seems they may or may not give custody to me but mother and father must move out. What happened to keeping a family together? Their family lives in my home.

There's rarely any "ASAP" involved in a CPS case for someone in your position. You do have the right to hire any attorney to look into filing an intervention in the proceedings to have the child placed into your care, but it is usually a slow process with no guarantees.

As Mr. Hampton stated, child protection moves slowly and there is not way to speed up the process. Once child protection is involved you have the right to have an attorney and intervene in the proceedings. But in your case, it the offending party is living in your home, it is unlikely they will place the child back in your home. You will have to decide to either have the offending party not live in your home so you can have the grand daughter or try to convince the court that the home is safe for the child.
