If a mental health professional makes inappropriate judgmental remarks what are my rights

After waiting for months for an appointment for a follow-up counselor appointment the Psychologist made judgmental statements to me that made a bad situation worse. I had to go all the way up the chain to inform the powers that be that the person that did those things were in no way helpful or therapeutic. It caused a greater degree of stress and caused a lot of unneeded pain.

Not much more you can do, except to get on with your life. Judgmental remarks are not actionable.

It doesn't seem like you have a case. Closest might be intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress. All of the elements may not be met. Follow up with local counsel. Regards,

There is really nothing to do other than complain as you did. While there is no lawsuit, it is helpful that you did complain. Hopefully things will be corrected and that will change things so that others do not have to endure what you did.

I suggest that you change therapists. You do not have a cause of action for the facts that you relate. Legal Disclaimer: If this information has been helpful, please indicate below.
