Do I need an attorney that specializes in education?

I have an education degree in education. May teacher's certification expired. I went to renew it but was told I couldn't use the education classes I'm taking to renew it because it's not pertaining to my certificate. For example, I got my degree in elementary education. However, I'm in school for Curriculum Leadership. Therefore, I can't renew it unless I take elementary classes. The renewal process doesn't state that nor can I get my master's degree on my certificate because I mainly didn't get it in AL, but it needs to be comparable. The program is under the title Curriculum and Instruction, but my specialization is Technology in Elementary. I was hired by a principal but lost out on the job because of the teacher's certification in AL is not specific in their wording. Lost in limbo.

You may hire an attorney skilled in education. But, these rules seem simple enough to comply with without needing a lawyer. Take the classes necessary to get certified. Good luck and I hope you enjoy teaching. It is a noble profession.

Not sure how an attorney would help you. The requirements, whether detailed or vague, are what they are. Not sure with whom you have been speaking, but maybe try to go higher up the chain of command to receive clarification on what it is you need to be doing.
