Can a motion for continuance be granted even when opposing party objects and is not given an opportunity to be heard

I filed a temporary protective order against my ex gf for past and present, she has been charged with battery fva and criminal trespassing fva, abuse. She retained the same counsel she used for her criminal case to file a response and a counter Petition for tpo. Her counsel also filed a motion for continuance because he requested a leave of absence in 04/2015 which fell on the same date of my initial tpo hearing 08/04/2015. The judge granted the motion on 08/03/2015. I'm pro se, not by choice, and I filed what I can piece together as a objection to the continuance on 07/31/2015. The new date is 09/01/2015. The new date is past the 30 day dead line set my law, I wasn't able to object, and I was served his motion to continue on 07/29/2015 so I only had 48hrs to respond. What can I do?

The granting of a continuance is in the discretion of the court. Presumably, the ex parte tpo will remain in effect until the new hearing date. Like the previous responder said, there's really not much you can do about this issue; just prepare for your new court date.
