What if my former employer fails to send my final check within three days after being terminated?

I was fired on Friday August, 21st. It is now the 27th of August. I did not voluntarily leave my position or else I would have my pay check seven days after my last day worked, or when the next scheduled pay date would be. What penalties could my former employer incur if my final pay is not received in the appropriate amount of time?

You should contact the Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner to file a complaint. http://www.laborcommissioner.com/faq.html. You may also have a private cause of action, but you should contact a local employment lawyer to discuss this matter in detail to determine what state and federal laws apply to your situation.
