If a "Special Judge" is assigned a case, can she correct mistakes by the previous judge?

A Special Judge was assigned to a probate case that has been open over seven years. Does the new judge have the ability and/or is she obligated to address any illegal activities or proceedings she finds while reviewing the case? Thank you.

A Special Judge sits in the place of the elected judge. So, the answer is yes, but a larger question is whether he/she WILL correct the mistakes. You can always ask, or alternatively wait until the other judge is back.
