My Ex appealed to appellate court and I responded to his appeal then he replied to my respond to his appeal. After his reply can I respond to his reply or there is no need to respond to his reply. What if I feel the need to respond to his reply? How many day do I have to respond?

Ordinarily there is an appeal, a response by the opposing party and then the person who brought the appeal gets to submit reply papers. these are the only papers that are allowed unless you ask the court for permission and get it. so he gets the last word, and you don't get to say anything more.

You don't get to keep talking till he stops. You made a complaint with all your issues, hopefully, and then he gave his side. Now you move on.

Ms. Foster is correct. I would advise you that it is bad practice on your part to handle your appeal pro se. As you can see, the Appellate Rules are very confusing. The best thing you can do to protect your interests is to obtain the services of an attorney.

Without permission of the court, you cannot file another response. Every case is assigned a case manager - you should have received a court notice from the Appellate Division with his/her contact information. If you have any concerns, please contact the case manager.

I agree that under normal circumstances you do not get to file additional papers without the court's permission.
