How long can it take to get a court date after being arrested for misdemeanor giving false information to a police officer?

My friend has currently been in jail for 22 days for a misdemeanor charge of giving false information to a police officer. He has yet to speak to a public defender but did speak with an investigator from the public defenders office. We tried to post bail but there is a violation of probation hold for another county. How long does it usually take to be seen in court?
That completely depends, but you would need to make bond on the first charge (or resolve it) before the jurisdiction with the probation hold would come and pick him up. Does that make sense?
He is entitled to have a bond set on a misdemeanor charge, but like Mr. Watson said, it depends on when he gets picked up by the other jurisdiction. Maybe you or his attorney can reach out to the probation department involved and try to get some information as to when he will be picked up. In this situation, it sounds like it's best for them to just go ahead and pick him up, so a call over there can't hurt.
That would depend on the jurisdiction and how many other people arrested before him are waiting to get into court. I would hope they would have him in court within 30 days. In the larger jurisdictions he would have already been in court, resolved his case, and been on his way to the hold.
