Attorneys are not permitted to reach out to you here on . You can likely find an attorney to evaluate your case or at least meet with you for a consultation. You will want to find someone who is familiar with the DC hospitals and filing suit against them. Best wishes to you in these very unfortunate circumstances. I hope you find peace and the resolution you are hoping for... Tara

Sorry to hear of your situation. You should be aware, there are time limitations that apply to when you can file a claim. In DC, the time limit for medical negligence is 3 years. That may start when the patient died, or it may have started earlier (depending on the specific situation and medical facts). Furthermore, DC law (16-2802) requires 90 day notification to the hospital or doctor, advising them of your intention to file suit. That can complicate the 3 year time limit if you haven't given notice before 2 years and 9 months (thus within the 90 day limit). Therefore, I encourage you to act quickly to consult with an attorney experienced with DC medical malpractice cases. There are some of us who are experienced handling these cases from both sides - representing patients as well as the hospitals / doctors.
