A false accusation would give rise to a defamation claim. You should use the "Find A Lawyer" function on to locate local counsel and review the matter.

There are [at least] two separate issues in play: (1) the display of the video online and (2) the company accusing you of wrongdoing. It is, generally, lawful to display on the internet a video of someone who is in a public place [such as a retail store or restaurant]. The person shown has little to no expectation of privacy. As for the company publicly accusing you of wrongdoing that may be defamatory IF what was written was an assertion of fact, the fact is untrue, the fact is one that would tend to harm your reputation, and others would reasonably conclude the accusation was made against you personally. You need to speak with your own South Dakota-licensed attorney about both matters: first to evaluate the video to see if an exception to the general rule applies and second to evaluate what was alleged against you [and to advise you whether this matter even merits a legal response]. Good luck.
