Is there an ordinance/law against a neighbor slamming their door that causes too much noise?

I live in a condominium complex where the front door of my neighbor is approx. 15 feet across mine. Whenever they slam their front door this causes our kitchen and living room walls to shake in addition to the loud noise. I already politely talked to
them and the HOA already sent them a letter. The door slamming is habitual and what must be done to stop it? It caused nervousness in my health. We can close ours gently, they do it sometimes but not consistent. I own my unit and they are renting.
Request a mediation to explore solutions, before going legal. There are several community mediation resources in your area. There is a non attorney property manager who does HOA mediations in Livermore.
The slamming is awful and makes me cringe, as a noise sensitive person. It's just more likely to achieve a positive result collaboratively, rather than through law enforcement.
You did a great job writing a polite letter. Giving your neighbor chance to "be heard" may be the key to resolution.
Talk to the owner of the unit. He should be able to talk to his tenants about being more considerate. As for an ordinance, there probably is not any that would apply.
Nuisance is the one cause of action that I can think of that would cover this legal issue.
However, I think that a more practical solution is available. I think that you should offer to pay for weather stripping or insulation around the jamb of your neighbor's door to soften or reduce the noise and vibration from slamming the door. You can also offer to pay for a soft close door damper to install on the neighbor's door. Or offer to pay for both. This is many thousands of dollars cheaper than hiring me to file a nuisance action for you.
