What happen when a US citizen leaves the United States with a Brazilian passport (legal under Brazilian law)? Because he owns more than $2,500.00 in child support he can’t get his US passport renewed. Some that that is illegal for a US citizen to be outside the United States with out a valid US passport.
Illegal or not, this person will have a tough time getting back into the US.

Open a child support case and the child support will contact the State Department to seize his US passport. Aside from that, there is nothing that can be done until s/he returns to the US
