Should financing manager tell me there is charge for the rate?

Business 4 views 1 answers
I bought a car last week with financing from the dealer. But today, I just found in the financing agreement they charged me 700+ for that rate. Actually before the purchase, I have pre-approved from another bank with 0.2 higher rate, which will only have 90 more in the total interest. The financing manager never mentioned a single word about this charge. I know I should be more careful about everything on the agreement before signing, but isn't it part of his responsibility to inform any charge in the loan?

"isn't it part of his responsibility to inform any charge in the loan?" None of the car dealership was there to look out for your best interest. In fact, they have a legal duty to their employer to take as much of your money as legally possible. You can go back to the dealership to "re-negotiate". If the dealership is interested in keeping you as a long term customer or getting referrals from you, perhaps the dealership will do something for you. You should carefully read all the documents to see whether you missed anything else. You can review the specific facts with your attorney to find out your legal options. $700 is, of course, a lot of money. However, you likely cannot hire an attorney for $700 to sue anybody.
