Photos for Money but NO Money! Could an attorney help me?

A stranger messaged me on FB and told me a story and basically offered me money in exchange for photos of me, it seemed shady so I asked our mutual friend and she said he's been doing it for years because he likes the photos (which is not what he told me). I went along with the story and provided my time and photos and have our written exchange of agreement but was never paid. In fact, I was completely cut off and not responded to until I got upset and was still refused anything. Do I have any course of action available that may help me be compensated as agreed upon?
