Traffic violation for traveling more than 300 feet in turn lane

7 views 4 answers
I was cited for traveling over 300 feet in turn lane. I intended on traveling >300 feet in turn lane but was in an accident. I was not at fault for the accident and the officer was not present to witness how far I traveled in the turn lane. I traveled ~164 feet (I measured the distance). Since I did not travel 300 feet in turn lane can I be cited for intent to travel 300 feet?

The officer's affidavit may be based upon an improper foundation as he did not witness how far you travelled. If you want to have the ticket dismissed, you should use the find a lawyer tab above and hire a lawyer that is local and handles traffic matters. Good Luck

You can be and were cited for it. These cases are very hard for the prosecutor to prove unless there are credible witnesses or you admitted to the infraction. Hire a traffic ticket lawyer for your best chance of winning.

You've already been cited. At this point you need to hire a traffic ticket attorney and contest the ticket within 15 days of its issuance. Traffic ticket attorneys charge very reasonable rates as far as lawyers go.

It may be more than just the distance traveled. A traffic attorney would be able to look into other factors. An attorney would also have experience in presenting the case before the court, or in negotiating with the Prosecuting Attorney. If found committed, you insurance company may reassess if they should change your rates due to your involvement in an accident.
