The collections unit of the Court will allow you to enter into a payment plan that meets your budget. You can also fight the ticket but that almost always requires a lawyers help so if you are strapped for cash this is not a realistic solution.

Before you start thinking about simply pleading guilty and a payment plan, you should consider fighting this ticket. First of all, you should postpone your traffic citation appearance date by going to the court's website or go to the Courthouse traffic clerk window and request an extension. Set the case on another day in a month or so. Then you go in to see the judge and request that the case be set for trial without having to post bail.
As a former police detective and former deputy district attorney, I can share with you that it is usually best to set your case for trial. The officer may not be able to attend court or you may not even be guilty if you were already in the intersection before the light changed to red! You should consider consulting a lawyer who handles traffic tickets in your area. Good luck.
