As an employer How can I help an undocumented worker get a green card?

4 views 3 answers
I have an excellent employe who I recently discovered entered the U.S. undocumented. He was caught one time crossing the border but other than that has no history of any type of problems here in the U.S. I really want to keep this employee and help him to become a legally documented worker. What are my chances?

The question you should ask yourself is a financial question - what is this employee worth? Normally, to bring an undocumented worker to the US who is unskilled is very expensive, low chances of success, and takes a long time - not to mention that your business is sticking its neck out hiring undocumented workers. Also, since the worker has "been caught" certainly doesn't help anything - there are probably solutions to bring him here and get him 'documented,' but in my practice, those efforts are very expensive.

Chances are very slim if he has no way to enable him stay in the US. It is best to consult an immigration lawyer first before you embark on any process for him if he is illegal. You do realize the consequences for both of you, and i shall not go any further as this forum is open to everyone. You are welcome to contact me via the link below. Good luck.
