I went to court for 459 pc where it was dropped to a misdaemor petty theft and burgulary. They gave me 10 days of community service and once completed by my next court date it will be reduced to an infraction. I was told an infraction is a ticket so they will credit me being in jail towards the ticket and then I will pay the rest if any. I wanted to know would I be able to have the infraction takin off my record. I am 21 and i have 1 to may be 2 years to finish my degree in kinesiology where ill be come an athletic trainer... will this affect my degree? i also wanted to know if anyone know anywhere were they hire people with shoplifting infractions on their record.

An infraction should not come back to haunt you. They are the equivalent to a speeding ticket. Most future employers will only ask about a misdemeanor or felony convictions so there is no need to disclose this case in future employment applications. Robert Driessen

That was an excellent dispo of your case; you should be fine. If in fact it'll be reduced to an infraction, you will not have to disclose it. Just make certain you do that community service! Good Luck & God Bless. Judith M. Fouladi, Esq. Orange County (714) 384-6500

The arrest will be on your record. You can not expunge an infraction...so it would be on your record. The flip side is, an infraction is not a crime.
