In case you feel like trying it???? Is that your question??? Its a Class A misdemeanor and you can spend a night in jail. Pay the fare.

I agree with Mr. Rothstein. Pay the fare. Jumping the turnstile is called "Theft of Services" and it is a class "A" misdemeanor which carries a maximum of one year in jail.

You may be charged with Theft of Services, a class "A" misdemeanor (this is a criminal conviction) which carries a penalty of up to one year in jail. You should strongly consider hiring a Brooklyn Criminal Defense Attorney because if it is mishandled you could end up having a criminal conviction on your record for the rest of your life. If it is a first arrest a competent attorney should be able to help you resolve this case without any serious penalty.
